sculptures have been inspired by emotions, touch, music and a sense of
sight that transcends the everyday dull into an inspirational vision.
The wood he uses may have been recycled from the desert, taken from an
old dilapidated structure, or rescued from a weathered saw mill with
pieces left to rot in the rain. Others came from the finest wood
selections that have been hand picked to convey the extraordinary
quality of every piece. Mark sees the flaws in wood as a mark of
individuality and character; he manipulates the flaws into remarkable
pieces of art
His sculptures are uniquely unusual with deep
passion and creativity carved into each piece. He skillfully shows the
world that what most would perceive as waste he sees as his next
Internationally, Mark has crossed the barriers of
language with gifts to people that understood the language of the gift
as well as the language of the piece itself.
Mark’s predominant medium is wood although he has created in other fields as well.
of his pieces are hand rubbed with oil creating a soft lustrous finish
leaving most wondering in amazement how something so hard can be worked
